Today was a red letter day for our site – we formally launched Long Time Travel to our friends via our various social media channels. Thanks to everyone who has given us a follow.
In great news for Mexico, the governor of the state of Puebla has advised his citizens that people like him don’t need to worry about getting the Coronavirus as only rich people get it. The president of Mexico is claiming his religious amulet will protect him so it’s seems like the decision makers have all of the bases covered.
Mexico’s tally has now reached 405, with five deaths. The President has announced the army will mobilise almost 17,000 personnel to help manage the crisis.

Cases in Quintana Roo, the state Lisa and I are bunkered down in, have reached 27 (Cancun 22, Playa del Carmen 4, Other 1). Hotel occupancies are running at less than 20% and the state has implemented various initiatives including the closure of schools and non-essential businesses.
A lot of restaurants and cafes are still open but are noticably quiet and people are generally not congregating in groups. The Mega supermarket was eerily quiet today when we called in. The shelves are full of stock but the aisles are empty of people.
